      Community

On the evening of Thursday, October 8, Dunn & Phillips, P.C. sat down with 30 students from the Department of Political Science at Westfield State University, in The Owl’s Nest, Ely 018.

It was a great discussion. We have been serving clients in Western Massachusetts for decades, and the rest of the office brought the view from every seat in a firm, not just the attorney’s.

Thank you to Westfield State University and the Department of Political Science for inviting us.

    1. MassLive continues its coverage of the Chicopee Housing Authority case

      In the press

MassLive reporter Namu Sampath continues to report on the lawsuit against the Chicopee Housing Authority, in which Dunn & Phillips represents several of the plaintiffs. The latest article covers the tenant’s history of violence, the extent of which has come to light in discovery. The plaintiffs have alleged that history since the case began.

The case is ongoing, and our work on it continues. We thank MassLive and Namu Sampath for their coverage, and we look forward to continuing our investigation and litigation on our clients’ behalf.

    2. Firm publishes opinion piece on the SJC’s construction-site decision in Suquilanda v. Skyway Roofing

      Firm news

On August 17, 2026, the Supreme Judicial Court decided Suquilanda v. Skyway Roofing, a case about when a worker injured on a construction site can bring a claim against the general contractor, not only the employer.

Dunn & Phillips has published an opinion piece on what the Court decided, what it left open, and what it means for injured workers and their families in Western Massachusetts, including Attorney Wayne H. Peereboom’s read on the decision.

    1. Fresh produce for Springfield families with Springfield Together

      Community

On July 25, 2026, members of this office took part in giving away fresh produce until the boxes ran out. Fruit, vegetables, melons stacked higher than the tables. So many families walked home with full boxes, and that never gets old.

The giveaway was a Springfield Together partnership, funded by an award from Hampden District Attorney Anthony Gulluni’s office through its Forfeiture Community Support Program. Money seized in drug cases, turned into food on Springfield tables. That is the program working exactly as it should.

Thank you to the Springfield Police Department for managing traffic and keeping everyone safe, and to Ali Bulut and the crew at Inter Produce, who do the real heavy lifting at these giveaways year after year.

Springfield shows up for Springfield. Proud to be part of it.

    1. Real estate closings now at the Belmont Avenue offices

      Firm news

Effective this spring, the firm's real estate closing practice operates from dedicated offices on Belmont Avenue. The new space was chosen with closings specifically in mind: on-site parking for buyers, sellers, and lenders; a conference room large enough to seat a full closing without splitting parties between rooms; and adjacent signing rooms for same-day refinances and seller-side signings.

Buyers and sellers in active transactions will continue to work with the same attorneys and paralegals. Closings already scheduled have been moved to the new address automatically; your closing package and confirmation will reflect the Belmont Avenue location.

If you are buying, selling, or refinancing and would like to walk through the seller net-proceeds calculator before listing, visit our real estate practice page or contact the firm.
